Seriously great value from a winery setting the tone for where South Africa is headed. Everything in this one points to the Rhone with incredible depth for the price. Smokey and savoury to complement the black fruit notes. Well done
Complex, earthly with strong pepper notes expected from the shiraz component. A powerful wine that holds it all together with elegance - and a bargain at the price.
David Lawrason wrote a fine piece about South African wines, touching on the perception that SA wines are inexpensive hence difficulty for them is selling premium wines. Case in point for this Mullineux Kloof St red. This is a superb Rhone blend, with wonderful balance and flavour. $19.95, released in August and there is, as of this writing, still 1000 bottles in Vintages stores. This wine equals many from other regions at $30-40. A must buy. Tasted Nov 2016.

Underwhelming and somewhat overrated in my opinion. Decent wine, not outstanding in any way. It was food friendly and smooth I suppose. Certainly not offensive. 88-89.
