2/2012 drinking now, spice, plum with lingering tannins that may overshadow the flavor with time. ripeness not seen, so drink up but now a fine, balanced wine.
It needs some air; let it breath for an hour or so. Only then, does the tannic hold loosen its grip to reveal a softer wine with generous amounts of blackberry, plum and hints of dried red currant intermixed with earthy undertones. A slightly green herbal note lingers throughout. Tasted Nov 2011

I am going against the grain with this one - I was not overly impressed with this wine. Now, I love Cotes du Rhone, but I found this a bit short in fruit and high in herbeceousness. Also, a bit hollow in the mid-palate as well. Disappointing given the positive reviews I have read. Bottle variation?
