Stag's Hollow Winery Amalia Vineyard Riesling 2014, Okanagan Valley

A crisp, dry, racy and refreshing Riesling with lots of apple, lime juice and zest, some more exotic Asian citrus...
This is from an Osoyoos vineyard, blended with three percent muscat ottonel. It's a youthful, quite tender riesling...

This is a crisp, almost dry Riesling. It is fairly light, with 10.5% alcohol, but part of the wine was fermented in oak and spent some time on the lees, which has given a roundness to the palate, as well as a slight toasty, brioche-like character. The aromas are dominated by pithy lime and green apple, with lesser notes of petrol/kerosene, apricot, honey, allspice, and a slight herbal quality. These carry through the palate nicely, with a lingering lime zest and mineral character on the finish. Tasted Jan. 2017.
