Lovely and full wine with aromas of vanilla, lavender and black fruit. Soft on the palette with a very long finish. This wine will be even better in a few years, but is very enjoyable right now.
A deeply coloured, big, ripe Touriga Nacional. Fine structure and acidity provide great balance to all the ripe fruit and oak plays a well-judged supporting role. No holes or gaps from start to finish, this is a superb bottle of Douro. Fine drinking now, but surely can hold at least a few more years. Decant for sediment. Tasted March 2018.
Lovely, medium+ to medium-high intensity nose reveals maturing red berry & rose floral aromas surrounding perfumed core of blackberry, plum, fine wood spice & sweet spice notes. The medium+ weighted palate has very smooth & fine, integrated tannins & crisp, juicy acidity that supports maturing black cherry, savoury wet earth, wood spice, cinnamon, plum & blackberry flavours in a complex profile. Still has some fresh fruit characters & good structure on well-balanced palate. Savoury wet earth w/ some dried cherry & floral characters linger on long, crisp & gently grippy finish. Tasted July 2024.

Excellent Douro wine, very good length.

Very good Touriga Nacional typicity demonstrated in this Douro red. Dark, brooding, good depth of flavour with dark fruit (blueberry really jumped out for me), and medium plus tannin that are starting to resolve. Balanced and with very good to excellent length. Decant or give some time in the glass, as the aromatics were a bit closed initially, but opened up with time.
