This was a great year for Pinot at Henry of Pelham. This vintage has big mouthfeel, tons of classic earth flavours on the nose and palate and has aged very nicely. A great value Pinot Noir at $16.95. The catch is 2007's will be tough to find, so I recommend buying the 2010 and letting it sit for 2-3 years.

The hot and dry 2007 vintage makes this wine a bit more generous than the typical Ontario Pinot Noir. Very smoky nose, with notes of leather, dried cranberries and something mossy. On the palate, this is dry, medium bodied and has that same smoky character. Good level of concentration. Nicely balanced, with well present but well integrated tannins, and flavours of cherries, cranberries, spice, roasted beets and a distinct leathery quality. The finish is pretty long, if a bit coarse. Nonetheless, quite nice for the money.

A bit oaky, very light in taste.
