Fermented in oak barrels (25% new) from trees grown along the Grant River in Brantford, Ontario. Nose a bit closed with aromas of smoke, butter, and pear. Creamy with oily texture on the palate. Flavours consist of spice and buttery-apple notes, along with hints of toast. Nicely balanced with a long finish. Tasted June/2013.
