The 2009 Carmen Nativa Single Vineyard Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon, composed of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Carmenère that was aged in French oak for 10 months, has intense aromas of eucalyptus, blackberry, blackcurrant, oak and vanilla. It is a medium to full-bodied, extra-dry, fruity to integrated wine, with good acidity, chalky mouth feel, refined tannins (decant for 30 min) and a long, silky finish. It is a sipping wine, though can be enjoyed with food; drink now till 2020 – will benefit from more cellaring. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 91 pts (+1 evolution potential) – recommended for quality and taste. Tasted at Wines of Chile 2013 tasting in October/13 - http://grapeselections.com/wines-of-chile-2013/
