Medium garnet core with pale orange rim. Light intensity floral notes & cherries on nose. Dry, medium + bodied, high alcohol & tart acid balance by ripe cherries & astringent, slightly bitter tannins. Wine finishes reminding me of cranberries with the tartness.
Consumed with braised lamb shank & root vegetables (potatoes, onion & yam). The acid in the wine cuts through the fattiness of the lamb & balanced by the sweetness of the root vegetables.
This is very nice wine, especially with food & well placed for its price. Fruit, acid & tannins will allow this wine to age for another 3 - 5 years.
