Therepy Vineyard’s 2010 Freud’s Ego is a blend of 45% Merlot, 39% Syrah with the remainder being Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Viognier. The wine opens with notes of cured bison, new suede gloves, pine needle and red currants. The palate is generous with a supple nature; however, the tannins do grind a little on the finish leaving it a touch bitter. These tannins are not overly structural and are nothing a little fat content with dinner shouldn’t be able to take care off. Drink now and over the next couple years.
