This was my first bottle of vin jaune, so I'm no authority on how they should taste, but I thought this was amazing. Tried it with 8 others and we were all perplexed by it. The nose had tons of almond, ripe citrus, particularly lemon and white grapefruit, wet wool, and minerality notes. On the palate, it was medium-full bodied, quite round in the mouth, and high acidity, with pronounced intensity of citrus and nutty flavours on the long finish. Incredibly neat wine!! I just wish the LCBO would give its customers more opportunities to try wines like this one. Tasted January 2014.
