Here's a pleasantly savoury and sour red fruit-scented example, classically styled. The palate is firm and well...

Gave a little time to open up and it’s really singing.

This was a very pleasant surprise. Quite deep colour, and full nose of plums and spice. Med to full bodied, with ripe fruit and and just enough tannin to make it a great food wine. Nice modern winemaking while staying anchored in Tuscan soil. Will hold a few years, but it's so delicious now why bother. Very good value.

What a pleasant CC here, with ripe red cherry fruit leading the way. A hint of licorice and a touch of well integrated oak offering a slight whiff of baking spice. Medium body on the palate, the cherry fruit is countered by a savoury late palate. Refined tannins, balanced acidity and very good length. A touch hot on the finish keeps the score just under 90. Very food friendly and good value. Nov. 2014.
Bright and lively CC here, with vibrant sour cherry and red currant fruits supported by firm acidity and well-judged tannin. Oak is a non-issue, and the wine remains faithful to its Tuscan roots. For fans of real Sangiovese. Nicely done. Serve with a slight chill. For drinking now or should hold a few years. Tasted Oct 2014.
