Máté Brunello Di Montalcino 2008, Docg, Estate Btld.
Brunello (Sangiovese)
Tuscany, Italy
$65.00
Máté is one of the newest producers in Brunello. American-born painter/winemaker Candace Máté, and her husband, Hungarian-born writer/boat-builder/photographer, Ferenc Máté, have rapidly displayed a very deft hand at creating critically acclaimed Brunellos. The 2003 was only their third vintage. You can expect aromas of blackberry, cedar, truffle and new leather. From the hot '03 vintage, look for lots of fruit balanced out by ripening tannins. This one will mature quicker than most due to the heat of the vintage. Cellar 2-4 years and then enjoy for a decade.
