...Gascon oak was used to age 10 per cent of this which gives a darker colour and spicy notes; the rest was aged in limousin which lends more fruit. Minimum age is ten years, in this hearty blend with an approachable style that has sweet warmth. Deep brown tinged amber, it’s mellow, rounded with soft tannins and flavours of vanilla, dried fruit and caramel apple. The finish is sweet vanilla bean and spiced oak. Inviting nose of caramel and light baking spice, hints of star anise, dried apricot.
Warming and incredibly smooth, almost-burnt caramel, orange & apricot chutney, cracked white pepper. Long unxious finish, mellow and spicy.
Great value for a quality Armagnac in Ontario.
Tasted Febraury 2018.
