Masi Serego Alighieri Possessioni Rosso 2010
Red Blend
Veneto, Italy
$15.00 (447326)
This is a very classy elegant Italian red for a great price, from the hills that rise behind Verona, that is made from corvina and sangiovese grapes matured in large cherry wood barrels. Expect fragrant aromas of blackberry fruit with tobacco, vanilla and jammy notes. It is ripe, fullbodied with just enough tannin and acidity in support. Very good length. Best 2013 to 2018. Try with roast duck or hard mature cheeses. Score: 90 (Steve Thurlow, WineAlign.com, Apr 2013)Critic Reviews (1)

Blackberry, spices, and pepper on the nose. It is full-bodied with lots of fruit and softening tannins. Excellent value.
89/90. Very nice paired with eggplant parm (or many other Italian red-sauce type dishes I suspect) and also prime rib.
Very pleasing wine. Cherry wood adds complexity to flavour. Excellent value.
Very nice blend, balanced fruitiness and spiciness, both coming through in harmony with light acidity. I paired it with some spaghetti with meat balls and worked quite nicely into an Italian feel good meal.
Very drinkable -- nothing is overpowering.
The 2010 Masi Serego Alighieri Possessioni Rosso, composed of Corvina and Sangiovese, has intense aromas of black cherry, black currant, oak and vanilla on the nose and dates, black cherry and vanilla on the palate. It is a full bodied, dry, fruity wine, with good acidity, refined tannins (decant for 15-30 min) and a smooth finish of medium to long length. It is food friendly or enjoy on its own; drink now-2018+. My impression: NICE, 89-90 pts – recommended for its value. Tasted July/13.

Oct 2013. Pretty good. A little fruity. Not bad at all for 15$
