Outstanding. A lovely chardonnay with nicely balanced oak and a buttery caramel finish. Tasted August 2013.
While I'm often dismissive of heavily oaked chardonnay, this one really works for me. The nose is intense with the charred wood notes mingling nicely with the butter, ripe apple, pear, and mineral notes. On the palate, this wine is all about the minerality and medium-high acidity with the smoky notes coming through on the finish. The length is excellent. While it's true that oak masks some of the most desirable characteristics, the minerality that points to the County shines through. Tasted August 2013
Med. gold colour. Med. intensity nose of dill, yellow apple, white peach, vanilla, and pastry crust.
Dry, full body, med. acidity. Yellow apple, vanilla, baking spice, pastry, and dill. Long length. Elegant.

The 2010 Rosehall Run J C R Rosehall Vineyard Chardonnay, aged in French Oak, has intense aromas of roasted coffee and oak. It is a medium to full bodied, integrated wine with tart acidity and a long, oak-dominated finish. This is a sipper for lovers of (heavily) oaked Chardonnays. My impression: NICE, 89 pts. Tasted April/13 at WineAlign Cru tasting.
