Château Siaurac 2006, Lalande De Pomerol

Bordeaux 2006s are reaching into prime time in terms of flavour evolution with leather, rubbery notes, herbs and...
Dilute, woody, cedary and smoky. Tannins are drying and on the whole disappointing. Tasted by February 2014.

Some bricking in the colour. Youthful, muted nose. Medium-full body. Leathery, woody and dry.

I believe this was one of the arrive in style selections, and I found it to be very good. I didn't notice any oxidation, bricking or drying tannins, but a rather pleasant bordeaux. Nose was light, but cherries, tobacco and oak were all evident. The wine was medium bodied, with fine tannins and medium to long finish.
A little light, but showing attractive berry and milk chocolate notes, with chewy tannins. Best after 2009. 9,080 cases made
Huge discrepancy between nose and palette, with lovely fragrant aromas of buttery red fruit, peppery balsamic strawberries, and milk chocolate leading to an unpleasantly dry, astringent mouthfeel and thin flavours; just not much there, and nothing really opens up.
