Marimar Estate La Masía Pinot Noir 2007, Don Miguel Vineyard, Russian River Valley, Sonoma
Pinot Noir
California, Usa
$34.95 (303974)
Forward, mature, inviting and ripe, this pinot is firmly in the west coast style, but with above average balance, complexity and class. On the finish one can pick up an intriguing oloroso sherry-like note: nutty, caramelized, treacle flavour, yet the ensemble is nicely balanced by the pleasant bitterness of tannins and the cut of acids. Long finish. Quite a ride for the money. Tasted January 2013. Score: 91 (John Szabo, MS, WineAlign.com, Jan 2013)Critic Reviews (5)
