Signorello Padrone Proprietary Red 2007, Napa Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon
California, Usa
$155.00 (271304)
Flagship red of Signorello, the 2007 Padrone is an extremely weighty, hedonistic Bordeaux-blend. Dark-opaque ruby in colour, the wine features resplendent, almost ‘silky’ aromas of creamy black mocha, black currants, blackberry compote, crème de cassis, kirsch, licorice, leather, vanilla, and spice. Very complex, retaining extremely rich, sumptuous fruit, firm tannins, milder acidity, and a long-lasting, abundant hint of chocolate and ripe plummy currants on the finish. Powerful, decadent bottling; excellently structured and styled. 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, and 8% Cabernet Franc. Now-2026. Another intense aromatic spicy nose from Signorello's best cru. Love the opulent milk chocolate savoury cigar tobacco...

Consisting of 84% Cab Sauv, 8% Merlot and 8% Cab Franc. Sweet plum drops and incense aromas. Medium-full bodied and very smooth with blackcurrant, cassis, dark fruits on the palate. Very nicely integrated tannins and a long, dark finish that is silky smooth. Tasted Dec/2012.
