I appreciate the freshness and supple aspect of this Gigondas; coupled with a velvety texture and polished tannins,...
This is not a heavyweight, indeed it is quite refined which is what I expect from the higher altitude, limestone...

Description: Deep ruby in colour with a muted nose.
Now this is an easy drinking wine!
Positives: Cedar, cassis, blackberry, plum, thyme, rosemary, white and black peppers and bay leaves. Medium+ body with medium tannins, good acidity and a fairly long length. The 14.5% alcohol is well integrated.
Negatives: Muted nose
Drink now or over the next 2 years on its own or pair it with rack of lamb.

Both John Szabo's and David Lawrason's review are bang on (other than DLs 'firm and tannic' comment) with this one.
The nose is fairly muted, not showing a whole lot, but it's a complete head fake 'once it hits your lips.' It's quite rich, yet fresh and focused, with red berry fruits and plum flavours, with some garrigue, a little minerality, and as DL says an animal note at the end. Lovely balance, and a velvety smooth mouthfeel. Would score higher if the nose was more expressive.
