This is a crowd pleaser with notes of black cherry, dark chocolate, baking spice, vanilla, and a hint of cedar. Medium to full-bodied with smooth tannins, this wine is incredibly rich yet soft in the mouth. The finish is long with chocolate and black cherry notes dominant. Excellent bottle of wine, amazing value! Tasted October 2012.
Very nice wine. Crisp tannin, cherry & spice, with a long chocolaty finish,
I tend to agree with Blair's review for the most part. It's not all that good right out of the bottle. It's fairly closed and tight with sour black cherry dominating the palate. After a few hours it opened up, turned to ripe black cherry and I did get the chocolate, but think bitter dark chocolate not milk chocolate. It's quite juicy and fresh despite the age. Overall, you can do better for $19 but it's not bad after a few hours of breathing.
I taste sour black cherry. It has some length, but I do not taste the promised chocolate. It is not all that smooth to start, and by the end of the second glass the flaws become more apparent. This is yet another overrated twenty dollar wine.
