Dark, richly fruited red from southern Italy. Notes of sour cherries, herbs, and spice. Fairly tight and tannic, with a good backbone of acidity. Lots going on here, but like the '07, I think that this needs a bit of time to settle down. A great bargain cellar selection for 3-5 years down the road. Tasted Sept 2012.
very sour cherry fruit, quite tannic, not overly-oaked, lasting finish, needs more time for sure!!
It’s built in a solid old world frame - really dry with firmness to it. It's lean, and medium bodied. Black pepper, coffee grinds, herb (basil…) & spice. The acidity is prominent. Finished structured. Needs more time to be fully appreciated.
