Description: Medium+ ruby in colour with a medium intense nose.

How nice is it to find an Aussie wine under $20 that is under 14% alcohol and doesn't taste like I just ate toasted bread with grape jelly.

Positives: There's a lot going on in this easy drinking wine. Light cedar, boysenberry, blueberry, blackberry, cassis, cinnamon, cloves, raspberry, cherry and speck, just to name a few. Medium+ body with medium tannins, good acidity and a long length.

Negatives: None

Drink now or in the next 2 years on its own or pair it with venison

Tasted: 7 March 2013

Light ruby cherry hues. Fragrant and fruit nose. Medium body. This wine slowly reveals some complexity. Red fruit, juicy, good acidity. Medium to long lingering. A hint of chocolate and then an interplay of sweet and savoury, with alcohol present at the end. Good, but even better with LCBO's $3.00 off sale, bringing it into decent value territory. Feb. 2013.

It's only wine but I like it

Very ripe fruit, with restrained use of oak. Approachable and easy to drink, with a bit of sweetness on the finish. Leans more toward the Aussie model than the French model. Not the depth I had hoped for. A bit overpriced in my view. For near term consumption. Tasted July 2012.
