At the price this wine is a steal. Has minerality on par with wines more than twice the price. It's a cool climate chardonnay.
The wine glistens in the light reflecting both its purity and clarity. The colour is bright yellow with green hues at the shoulders. Aromas only hint at oak influence with more focus on sweet ripe melon and lemon as a prelude to the clean, cool climate mineral texture and balanced acidity. Lovely combinations of citrus and herbal notes on the palate with a touch of creaminess and a slightly spiced finish. There is a degree of complexity here that elevates this wine well above others in the price range. Very enjoyable and a fantastic value. Tasted Aug 2012.

I don't even know where to start with this wine - it is sensational for the price.
On the nose - melon, white blossom with citrus notes and a slightly flinty minerality. The palate citrus-crisp with a very clean finish, but not entirely unoaked, so there is a gentle spice that lingers. Various batches were blended and some of those saw time in oak. There was also a blend of Malolactic fermentation vs. non. This rounded the wine a little and added complexity. This single vineyard - Las Pintadas, has three blocks with distinct soils which added to the complexity of the wine. Aug '12

The 2010 Finca El Origen Chardonnay Reserva, 25% of which was oak aged for 21 days, is medium bodied with appealing notes of green apple, lees and very faint oak. It has a distinct minerality, nice acidity, subtle tannins and a medium, slightly sweeter finish. Drink now and for the next 2-4 years. Drink-how: serve with food or as a standalone sipper. My impression: NICE, 89 pts - the price tag of $10.95 makes it an excellent buy – highly recommended. Tasted Aug/12.

Even at an elevated percentage of alcohol, this wine displayed clean, fresh fruit and mineral tones. Coming from high elevation vineyards in the Uco Valley, this is a Chardonnay that is more cool-climate in character. Approachable and very affordable. Tasted August 2012.
