Bodegas Portia Ebeia Roble 2010, Ribera Del Duero
Tempranillo
Ribera Del Duero, Spain
$15.00 (307710)
This mid-weight, supple, quite charming and well balanced red is from Bodegas Portia, a winery created in the 90s by Group Faustino (that also owns Faustino and Campillo in Rioja). It is 100% tempranillo aged four months in American oak. There is some roasted, chocolaty character from the barrels but also generous dark almost dried black cherry fruit and herbs. It's fairly soft with a dusting of fine tannin, and only moderate alcohol heat. The length is good to very good, with lingering dark chocolate bitterness. Best 2013 to 2016. Beautiful color. Great finish. Will go and get 4 or more bottles. This is a great find.
