I often wonder why there are so few lightweight reds from the Loire Valley in our stores. This cabernet franc from Anjou, though not a sipping wine, would be quite delightful, lightly chilled, with some lamb cutlets or a slice of prime rib. Expect mild cranberry and red cherry aromas with a hint of tea and some vague spice notes. It is lightweight and juicy with enough tannin and acidity for balance. Good to very good length. Best 2013 to 2016. Score: 88 (Steve Thurlow, WineAlign.com, Dec 2012)
