This is a pleasant, fairly supple and smooth syrah but it is notably hot and quite tart on the finish. A lighter...

Guess I got a non-tainted bottle. Sensational rich liquid-jammy bliss with red meat.

Muted acidity (who cares) and soft tannins...if you like hugely jammy Syrah for sub 20 then here it is...if you get a non-tainted version!

This is a very nice and enjoyable Syrah of 2008 vintage with an excellent price, under $18. Great value for money. Goes well with BBQ steak and rack of lamb, with a strong finish. I am going to buy a few more bottles and keep them in the cellar for enjoyment.

This started with some brett and pepper over jammy plum, which was a pleasant surprise. After an hour or so the brett dissipated, and overwhelming black jam fruit and "chilean mint" took stage. There's heavy toasted oak presence, but not too much for the fruit. On the palate the tannin is soft and meager, acid just present, and fruit is rich and confected.

Still, it finishes simple and tasty, and it's easy to enjoy. Loses some concentration after the first day, but it's oak blends in better. Overall, a great buy for a standard gathering.
