Medium to light garnet in colour and medium+ intense nose.
Positives: A typical California Pinot, in a good way, featuring pine, cherry, strawberry, rhubarb, cinnamon, pomegranate and an underlying note of smoke reminiscent of autumn leaves on an open fire. Medium to medium minus body, light tannins, medium+ acidity and a long length.
Negatives: None
Interesting Point: Remember to slightly chill a Pinot.
Drink now or over the next 4 years on its own or pair it with peppercorn glazed pork pâte.

Soft tannins and sweet red fruit with a slight cinnamon spice. This pinot noir comes to us from the beautiful cooler Santa Maria Valley in Santa Barbara California. Balanced, approachable and enjoyable. Tasted September 2012.

The 2009 Pinot Noir Julia’s Vineyard flows from the glass with layers of sweet candied fruit, raspberries, flowers and spices. The Julia’s is impressive for its expressive varietal character and excellent balance, both quite an achievement for a wine with a 60,000 case production. This was fermented in oak barrels (27% new) and aged on its lees with batonnage for seven months
