I used to like this wine a lot but hadn't tried it in some time. I still like it!
Floral, fruity nose. Medium-full body. Sweet ripe fruit, sour cherries, a hint of chocolate and nice dry tannins. Overall a very well balanced wine and a good value.

Chianti, in my opinion, is best enjoyed with food, and we made quick work of this bottle alongside homemade pizza the other night. The similar flavours of the tomato sauce and the bright acidity of the glass neutralize each other to bring forth other less dominating flavours in both the food and wine. This example shows notes of cherry and chocolate finishing with some red currant and cranberry. Quite nice. Tasted April 2012.
