Classic smoky, black pepper, black fruit-flavoured shiraz, with firm acids and tannins, and restrained, integrated...
This is a ripe and ready shiraz with considerable oak sweetness, smoke and nuttiness, plus a Christmas cake spiciness...

But for a smoky wood character, the nose really doesn’t give much away; some stewed dark fruit and spice notes if I try really hard. The body is somewhat lighter than expected considering the alcohol weight at 14.5%. The palate is smooth and easy drinking with a touch of red fruit sweetness that balances the spicy Shiraz core nicely. Tasted March 2012.
