This is sourced from the Omaka Valley, one of the three "Southern Valleys" within Marlborough, a drier sub-region....
Here's a Marlborough sauvignon with well above-average depth and complexity, closing in on the upper end of quality...
Somewhat lifted and volatile, there are unfortunate flavours of bruised apple juice and sour lemon pith. Quite spicy...

Lovely aromas of passion fruit, gooseberry, grapefruit and lemon notes, fresh grass, wet stone and some minerality as well. All of this leads to a grapefruit freshness on the mouthfeel, with still noticeable acidity, but tamed by partial oak fermentation which gave it a smooth texture. This wine finish is long, refreshing with a hint of sweetness. Srongly recommended.

Wonderful flavour, richer than you'd expect from sauvignon blanc, with citrus and tropical fruit.
