the nose is a bit closed - musty with hints of vanilla. the palate offers sour cherry/ cranberries and tart black current. mineral flavours dominate - wet salty stone water. it's well made, dry and focused. Not the typical cab/franc flavours of green bell pepper and barnyard, however, it's a complex little bugger. I'm curious what others think?

Really nice bottle of cabernet franc that is dominated by raspberry and strawberry aromas, along with a bit of black pepper, herbaceous, and minerality notes. The acid is pretty high on this bottle, keeping it nice and fresh, while the the tannins are quite soft but chalky. Medium weight with a reasonably long finish. Not a show-stopper, but had everyone in the room smiling. Give it a nice chill and the aromatics of this wine will really shine. Tasted June 2012.
