Disappointing, given how highly its rated. For a "meritage" blend, it immediately reminded me of an inexpensive, not that great, Spanish rioja. Oak dominates the nose and palate. Dry, light to medium body, not a lot of fruit flavour. Perhaps, as David Lawrason suggests, cellaring for 2 or more years would help.
