Fantastic value. Had a bottle last night, and then went out and bought a case.
Oct 2012. What an appealing wine -- richly fruited, with the oak noitceable but not overwhelming. Lots of juicy acidity to balance it out. Nice mix of traditional and modern wine making. Perhaps not quite enough complexity to push it over 90 points, but really delicious and balanceed. The proof for me is that the 14% alcohol is not intrusive at all.
Ripe dark red fruits, with noted but unobtrusive toasty notes from the oak ageing. Firmly structured, but not austere. Lingering finish. A very good wine that just lacks a bit of complexity to push it over 90 pts, but I'd have no complaints drinking this again. Drink now through 2016. Tasted Sept 2013.
