I found this wine was lacking complexity on the nose. I was getting some dark fruit and a bit of oak but nothing really stood out. However, this did not lack flavor. I found nice flavors of dark fruit with a hint of oak. Some bite on the tannins but not too much. The balance was fantastic. I will add that I would have never guessed that this was a pinot noir. It is not light in the glass and with the tannins that it has, I would have guessed at least a merlot.
Throughout the evening, this did not evolve so I see no reason to decant.
