Tawse Winery Pinot Noir, 17th Street Vineyard 2007, VQA Twenty Mile Bench
Pinot Noir
Ontario, Canada
$58.20
One of several single-vineyard Pinots produced here, the 2007 17th Street suggests much has improved at this high-tech operation over the past several years. Medium-dark ruby in colour, the wine is finely toasted, offering inviting aromas of dark red cherries and plums; giving way to rhubarb, subtle white pepper, and a hint of vanilla and spice. Complex, possessing very fine fruit, well-integrated tannins, balanced acidity, and an elegant, lingering hint of dark black cherries on the finish. Beautiful effort, with great balance and polish. Now-2014. Score 90 (Julian Hitner, The Successful Collector, February 2010)
