Clearly a wine made respecting the terroir, this is a red that can be from nowhere but the south Rhone. Complex, with intense spicy red fruit, firm tannin and a long dry finish. Oak, if any is used, has no impact on the flavours. Really delicious wine here though another year in bottle would not hurt. Wines like this remind me why I don't ante up bigger bucks for Chateaneuf. Tasted Oct 2021.
