Trapío 2006 is a 100% Monastrell wine that has been aged for just over 14 months in French oak that has been used once, to take away any overbearing wood flavours. On the nose there are dark berry flavours, with a touch of mint and eucalyptus. Its full but elegant with acidity and ripening tannin suggesting that it's in for the long haul. I've a bottle in my cellar with the suggested date of 2012 to open it but I'll probably crack and drink it before - it really is super wine ...
