A rustic, ruby coloured wine with a tinge garnet, that still had a measure of sediment in the glass. The nose is complex and still could be developing. The floral components come first with violets. Next are the generous fruit and plum that are more 'red' rather than 'black', and rounded off with rosemary. The palate has a generous weight and flavour. The tannins and acidity are still tightly wound-up. The ripe red plum and currant characters predominate and the finish has a balance of herbs, earth and fruit. Something to enjoy now, and over a few years to appreciate its development.
