A delightful wine from a quality small-scale wine producer in Roero. I was expecting something more rustic for the price but the wine is quite elegant. Pale ruby in colour with the slightest tinge of amber, the wine is very fragrant with classic Nebbiolo aromas of tart red berries and roses. The palate is medium bodied and confirms the nose with decent concentration of flavours and mineral notes supported by fresh acidity. The finish is moderately long tapering off with light but grippy tannins. Like a classic Piedmont Nebbiolo from the more celebrated regions but on a much lighter frame. A great introduction to the pleasures of Nebbiolo without breaking the bank.
