Tupari Boulder Rows Sauvignon Blanc 2015, Awatere Valley, Marlborough, South Island

This is off the beaten path for NZ sauvignon. It was barrel fermented and has now reached the grand old age of five...
Certainly mature at this point, showing dried vegetal character alongside dried herbs, mint, and lightly candied...

The fragrant, clean nose delivers kiwi, guava, grassy, and green aromas with some herbal, lime, and spice complexities. It's medium-bodied with nice, ripe replays, and hints of mineral on the flavour profile. It has clean, balanced acids and is finely textured due to barrel fermentation in old French barriques. Nicely balanced throughout with excellent length on the finish. Tasted Jan/2020.
