Rosewood Natalie's Süssreserve Riesling 2008, VQA Niagara Peninsula

Made by adding a little unfermented riesling juice as a sweetener, this is a luscious riesling on the ‘off’ side of off-dry. The sweetness is brilliantly balanced by a broad seam of zesty acidity, making for a delicious and juicy white that’s excellent with spicy Asian dishes. This great full mouth Riesling is a double gold medal winner, the most recent at the Cuvee Wine Awards. A great sipping wine or match with a variety of different foods due to the balanced acidity & sweetness.
I first tasted this around the release and just re-tasted now in May 2013. The petrol has developed nicely, and the notes of beeswax, lime, and honey prevail on the nose. The palate adds some luscious stone fruit sweetness and a searing acidity that cleanses the palate with a lemon peel finish. Lovely drinking right now, alone or with a spicy Asian dish.
