Dense and complete on both the nose and the palate, this is sappy, concentrated, red, black and blue fruit flavoured...
The Lafage family name is behind this Roussillon blend of syrah, grenache and carignan and that speaks volumes about...
The nose is rather shy here, but pretty with ripe plummy fruit of the region, vague pepper, herbs and oak - nicely...

A 2015 blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Carrignan from the Languedoc region of Southern France on the Mediterranean coast. Aged four months in concrete casks. The lack of oak influence really lets the grapes and soil they were grown in come through. This smells like blossoming flowers and wild herbs and pine. Some sour cherry, cranberry, leather, nail polish. The finish is bitter orange peel. The bitterness is a little over the top, but acids are vibrant and refreshing.

This Roussillon red that is too easy to like. Ripe fruit, hints of herbs and pepper, supple tannin, no oak (sorry David, it is 100% raised in concrete), good length. It vanished from my glass in no time. Not for ageing (no more than a couple of years), this is lovely to drink now. Tasted Sep 2018.
