Veteran B.C.-trained winemaker Bruce Ewert and his Nova Scotian-born wife Pauline Scott in founded L’Acadie Vineyards in the Gaspereau Valley in 2004. Bruce identified that the region had great potential for crafting sparkling wine and in 2008 released the first traditional method sparkling wine in Nova Scotia. Almost the entire vineyard, which was farmed organically from the start, is planted to the L'Acadie Blanc grape variety.
