Vida Péter Petit Bonsai Kadarka 2023, Szekszárd Völgyeibol
Hungary$37.43
Exceedingly light bodied. Difficult to be at appreciative of this wine style. Way over priced; low QPR. Fruit is present but barely.
Falernia Titon Vineyard Syrah Reserva 2017, Elqui Valley
Elquí Valley, Chile$22.95
Wooly is an understatement and the nose is very funky but it really delivers a unique wine experience; must enjoy with food; something grilled.
Le Vieux Pin Syrah Cuvée Violette 2015, BC VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$33.45
Absolutely wonderful on the nose. Herbal on the palate, lots of fruit, smooth and delightful. Mid-weight.
Vadio Tinto 2012, Doc Barraida
Bairrada, Portugal$19.25
Was expecting so much based on the expert reviews and was somewhat disappointed. At times over the ring the Vadio was distinctly soupy and raisined. For the money, I would avoid it.
Domaine Les Pins Les Rochettes Bourgueil 2017, A.C. Bourgueil
Loire, France$17.95
Very good value wine; great flavour profile. Beware of considerable sediment.
Renato Ratti Ochetti Langhe Nebbiolo 2015, Doc
Piedmont, Italy$23.95
Superb. Complex and truly enjoyable with all the flavours described by the experts. Intriguing, full of unique flavours and not overpowering. Definitely one to grab in multiples.
Oak Bay Pinot Noir 2019, BC VQA Okanagan Valley
British Columbia, Canada$21.95
Awkwardly disappointing flavour; very light on the fruit with a distinctive tannic seam. You get what you pay for - $20 Pinot. Not recommended.
Sous La Montagne Dsm Vin D'altitude 2016, Ap Côtes Du Roussillon Villages
Languedoc, France$17.25
Excellent value wine. Beware of sediment.
M. Chapoutier Les Vignes De Bila Haut Côtes De Roussillon 2015, Ac
Languedoc, France$15.95
What an excellent wine for the money! I agree with Mr. Lawrence, the 2015 vintage is superior to to the bracketed vintages. Superb value for such an intriguing flavour profile at this price point. We stocked-up and will be enjoying this one through 2018.
Jim Barry The Lodge Hill Shiraz 2018, Clare Valley
South Australia, Australia$18.75
Not a fan of this one. For my palate, too much chocolate and vanilla and not enough fruit. For the price, Folklore Shiraz is a better buy with a more vibrant flavour profile.
