Craig Pinhey

Craig Pinhey is the only person to judge Canada’s national wine, beer AND spirit competitions. He grew up in Head of St. Margaret’s Bay, Nova Scotia, and graduated with his Masters in 1987 at Dalhousie/TUNS in Halifax. After 12 years as an Engineer in Ontario – where he became a local wine enthusiast and Certified Beer Judge – Craig returned east to become a beverage writer and consultant, graduating as a Certified Sommelier in Halifax in 2000. He has been the Provincial beverage columnist for Brunswick News for over 20 years, co-authored The Wine Lover’s Guide to Atlantic Canada, writes regularly for Quench online and Atlantic Business magazine, and conducts wine, beer, and spirits tastings in New Brunswick  He lives in Rothesay, New Brunswick, with his wife and Sunny the cat.
