Celebrate Tempranillo Day – November 12th, 2020

Tempranillo Cocktail Hour

Thursday, November 12th – 6 pm

I say Tempranillo, you say Tinta Fina. Roberto from Ribera del Duero says tinta del pais. Marco from La Mancha says cencibel, Carla from Catalonia says Ull del Llebre, if she can pronounce it at all.  And Wikipedia says there are dozens of other synonyms for Spain’s most prodigious grape variety. It is the fourth most planted grape in the world but 87% is planted in Spain. All over Spain. At 6pm on Thursday, November 12, join WineAlign colleagues John Szabo MS and David Lawrason for a live and lively chat and tasting about Spanish tempranillo, journeying through the regions to explore how and why the wines change, why it blends nicely with other grapes, and how well it ages. And you can taste along with examples you have purchased at the LCBO. Tempranillo’s proclivity to ripen sooner than others has earned its name as “the early one”. So, don’t be late.
