Melini Chianti 2015 ($13.95) – New at the LCBO

Steve Thurlow – This is a typical Chianti with aromas of red cherry and cranberry fruit with some earthy and leathery hints. It is midweight and juicy with fine balancing acidity and good length. Clean and pure with not much complexity. A good restaurant wine by the glass.

Melini Chianti Classico Reserva 2009 ($18.95) – New at the LCBO

Steve Thurlow – This is a fine well balanced traditional Chianti Classico for a good price. Expect mild aromas of red cherry and plum fruit with some leathery, spicy and herbal complexity. The midweight palate is dry and finely balanced with good grip to the finish. Very good length. Try with grilled or roast meats or creamy cheese like Brie.
