great fruit inflences and rolls nice in the mouth can't go wrong with this wine
Med ruby color with med+ intensity. Sour cherry, smokey, cherry licorice mixed with earth tones on the nose. On the palate true Italian notes of sour cherry, red apple, some cherry licorice, red currants & pomegranate. Med body with a long finish. Med tannins, med+ acidity, balanced. Medium complexity. Drink now, on it's own or with a veal sandwich.

The 2008 Bersano Costalunga Barbera D'asti is medium bodied, FRUITY to integrated wine with notes of yogurty prune and chocolate. Tannins are subtle to refined (decant for 15 to 30 min) and the finish is medium. It is good to drink now and will benefit from only short term aging. My impression: NICE, 86 pts - a recommended, food friendly wine for under $12 sold in the general section. Tasted Sept/11.
